Mr. Wood was born and raised in hot and sunny Merced, California, in the San Joaquin Valley. The poorest part of the United States of America. This is a little known fact. Between Chico, CA and Bakersfield, CA is the San Joaquin Valley. Most communities are agriculture based. As a youth Mr. Wood could be found at the 23rd Street Pool every summer or riding his bike along Bear Creek. Mr. Wood is still an avid basketball player despite ACL replacement surgery and multiple sprained ankles. Mr. Wood has earned a living to put food on the table and shelter over his head in many capacities. Mr. Woods first job was taking out the trash and mowing his parents lawn each week among other chores around the house. His first job outside of home was as a paperboy for the Merced Sunstar. Mr. Wood then had the honor of working for minimum wage ($4.25 an hour at that time) as dishwasher at Happy Steak, a local buffet and steakhouse in Merced, CA while he attended Merced High School. Mr. Wood has also been employed as a line cook, barista at Starbucks, executive assistant, package handler for UPS, accounts payable receivable clerk and a law clerk. Mr. Wood has held three jobs at one at one point during law school. Mr. Wood is your advocate and has firsthand experience with how hard it is to get ahead in this world. Please read the various blog articles on this website to hopefully help you get ahead in this world too.

Mr. Woods experience includes managing the San Francisco and San Jose offices of one of the largest consumer bankruptcy law firms in the United States. Mr. Wood then served as the Staff Counsel for David Burchard, the Chapter 13 Trustee for the Santa Rosa and San Francisco Divisions of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California. As Staff Counsel for Mr. Burchard, Mr. Wood administered Section 341 meeting of the creditors, confirmation hearings and litigated abuses of the bankruptcy process. There are few consumer bankruptcy lawyers in Union City or the Bay Area with this experience. Mr. Wood also has experience with collection lawsuits, preference defense, reclamation claims and adversary proceedings.
